Nikon has unveiled a new compact, point-and-shoot camera called the Nikon Coolpix S6500 at CES 2013. It’s one of the affordable cameras that packed with many key performance features with built-in Wi-Fi support. This newest camera brings a 16-megapixel 1/2.3-inch backlit CMOS sensor with a 25-300mm Nikkor lens and features amazing 12x optical zoom. Interestingly the new compact long-zoom point-and-shoot camera features Wi-Fi connectivity that allows sharing photos and videos in social networks.
The camera is capable to record videos at Full HD (1080p) format with the angle of 180 or 360 degrees. It also features a high-speed continuous shooting up to seven images at 10 frames per second. Interestingly, it has a dedicated movie recording button that allows you to record movies with just one touch. In 3D mode, the new camera can creates 3D images for viewing on televisions and computers. Even more, it also has a 3-inch display to enjoy all your videos and photos on the go.
This new point and shoot camera features Automatic Dynamic Range (HDR) technology to delivers obtaining images with better detail colors in any situation. Moreover, the point and shoot compact camera also brings five new Glamor Retouch modes and features image stabilization lens shift. Five new Glamor Retouch modes are; Brighten Face (lightens skin tones), Reduce Dark Circles (under people’s eyes), Whiten Eyes, Whiten Teeth, and Redden Cheeks (which actually applies a blush-like effect to cheeks in one of several colors depending on a person’s complexion.
Apart from WiFi connectivity, the camera features memory card slot that support for SD/SDHC/SDXC type, plus HDMI out as well as USB ports. With the help of WiFi and Nikon’s Wireless Mobile Utility1 app, which is available for Android and iOS that allows you to back up and share all your captured photos and videos.
The point-and-shoot camera weighs about 150 grams and measures having dimensions of 95.4 x 58.3 x 26.3 mm. It will be available in four attractive flavours such as; silver, black, red, and orange. This new Nikon Coolpix S6500 will be available later this month at a price tag of $220.
